Luma is similarly used for creating 3D models for use in games, movies, or other 3D applications and as a developer, a designer or even business owner this will come in handy as you can easily create your models with your smart device and import to SwiftXR.

Prerequisites:

  1. A Smartphone: Luma 3D capture is both supported by both Android and IOS devices

  2. The Luma lab 3D capture app

  3. SwiftXR account

The Luma 3D Capture:

CREATING A 3D MODEL

Luma AI’s technology is based on cutting-edge research in ML (machine learning) and computer vision, and it is constantly evolving to deliver unmatched quality and realism

Let’s see how to create a 3D model

  1. On the Luma app click on the plus sign below.

  1. Start to scan: Position your object on a flat surface then click on “start scan” to initiate the scanning process (Please note there needs to be even reflection of light on the image for easy scanning)

  1. Tap to place the bouncing box and ensure to enclose the object with the box

  1. Start to capture the object while you collect all the loops. To collect the loops, position your camera at a parallel line to the that of loop then move around your object.

  1. Export your model: Before exporting your model, ensure you name it first. The Luma app wil then upload your model.

  1. Drag and drop on SwiftXR

With Luma labs you can conveniently generate 3D models of your items at no cost using your smartphones. There is a lot more you can do with Luma so we recommend you check out their website. If you encounter any issues, be sure to send an email to support@swiftxr.io or visit our discord page for live support.
